“Amanda Seyfried Shares Hilarious Embarrassment: ‘My Boobs Made a Surprise Entrance’ with Glen Powell!”

Amanda Seyfried’s top tip? If you’re going to experience a wardrobe blunder at an awards ceremony, wish that the individual opposite you is Glen Powell.
“My breasts popped out of my gown at the 2023 Critics Choice Awards,” the 39-year-old performer tells PEOPLE in this week’s edition while reflecting on her leading role as Mickey in the new Peacock crime drama Long Bright River.
Seyfried accepted an accolade that year for her role in The Dropout, but alongside the award came an unforeseen clothing mishap. “I was attired in this remarkable vintage dress. I had my stylist try it on beforehand just for a laugh,” she reminisces about the Dior Haute Couture ensemble.
She mentions, “It was somewhat stitched together and it began genuinely falling apart, literally slipping off of me on the red carpet, and I believe there were even interviews where I’m stating it’s coming undone.”
It was during a private chat with Powell, 36, however, that the situation escalated. “I was conversing with Glen Powell in the corner near my table, and we were joking about something and I raised my arms, and my breasts were simply out. My gown fell apart,” she recounts.
Fortunately, Seyfried was surrounded by a true gentleman. “We both yelped, and like the gentleman he is, he shielded me. He didn’t look… I think. None of us anticipated that, but that dress had genuinely just surrendered.”
Last time I sang out loud
Yesterday I was belting out [Sabrina Carpenter’s] “Please, Please, Please” for at least four hours on set. I was probably irritating people. I did hear myself saying, “Sorry, sorry, sorry.”
Last impulse purchase
The excessively priced cashmere sweater that I’m currently wearing which I must don every day until I get my money’s worth. I did the same thing two years ago and wore it incessantly. People were like, “Are you alright?”
Last memorable fan encounter
Craig Conover from Southern Charm and I connect with each other on Instagram, and he shared that he was watching Letters to Juliet. I was like, “Wow, that’s surprising.” It’s so amusing when individuals express their affection for something that’s not Mamma Mia!
Long Bright River will be available on March 13 on Peacock.
