Hannah Ann & Jake Funk: Baby Joy! An Exclusive Look
The Bachelor family is expanding!
Hannah Ann Sluss, 29, and her husband, NFL player Jake Funk, 27, are thrilled to announce they are expecting their first child together. The former Bachelor contestant, who married Funk last June in a beautiful Italian wedding, is due to give birth in November.
“We discovered we were expecting while on a trip to Dubai,” Sluss shared. “It was such an unexpected and joyful surprise! A moment we’ll always treasure. I will be sharing Jake’s reaction video soon; it was so funny!”
After learning their exciting news abroad, the couple decided to keep it private for a little while before sharing it with their loved ones.
“We waited until I was around 12 weeks, once I started feeling a bit better,” Sluss explained. “We shared the news at a family party, and it was the best surprise! Everyone was so excited and incredibly supportive.”
After experiencing some morning sickness early in her pregnancy, Sluss is already prioritizing her baby’s health.
“As first-time parents, we’ve been doing our homework and being super intentional about everything that will go in and on our little one,” she says. “With our baby arriving in November, right when cough, cold and flu season kicks into high gear, it was important for us to be prepared.”
“Finding gentle, safe, and effective solutions that we can truly trust has been a top priority,” Sluss adds.
Now well into her second trimester, Sluss says she’s “feeling great.”
“The first trimester was all about rest and sticking to the basics – work, walks, and taking care of Dash,” she explains. “I had a lot of food aversions, and almost everything tasted off except fruit (which I’ve always loved!).”
She and Funk have begun discussing names, hoping to choose one with special meaning.
“We’ve started talking names and love the idea of choosing one that’s meaningful and tied to family in some way,” Sluss remarked.
As they prepare for this significant milestone, Sluss expresses the couple’s immense gratitude.
“So thankful,” she says. “Becoming parents is the greatest gift, and we’re just in awe of God’s goodness in this season.”
