Blake Lively’s Legal Showdown: Scooter Braun Subpoenaed
Blake Lively is preparing to subpoena Scooter Braun and his HYBE corporation amidst her ongoing legal dispute with Justin Baldoni.
The subpoenas for both Braun and HYBE, his K-Pop corporation, are expected to be served soon. This development follows a notice sent to HYBE regarding the impending action, as reported.
The subpoenas reportedly seek documents related to crisis PR manager Melissa Nathan. Nathan was previously named as a co-defendant in Lively’s case against Justin Baldoni, specifically concerning work Nathan performed for the *It Ends with Us* actor-director.
Representatives for Lively have not commented on the subpoenas.
This legal maneuver comes shortly after a judge dismissed the substantial countersuit that Baldoni had filed against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, their publicist Leslie Sloane, and *The New York Times*.
Lively’s legal team has characterized the dismissal as a “total victory and a complete vindication” for their clients. They further stated their intention to pursue attorneys’ fees, treble damages, and punitive damages from the opposing parties, alleging “abusive litigation.”
Baldoni’s lawyer, however, maintains that Lively’s team’s “declaration of victory is false.” He expressed his belief that the judge’s decision was “not fair” or “right,” emphasizing that Baldoni seeks vindication and desires the truth to emerge through appropriate legal channels. He’s prepared to share his side of the story in court.
Meanwhile, Braun has been involved in long-standing legal battles with Lively’s friend Taylor Swift concerning her music masters, which Swift recently regained control of.
Swift was previously involved in the Lively v. Wayfarer Studios case, but Baldoni withdrew his document subpoena issued to the musician last month.
Regarding Swift’s relationship with Lively, sources suggest that while they are working towards maintaining amicable relations, “their friendship isn’t the same as it was before,” and they “aren’t as close and haven’t been spending as much time together as they did in the past.”
