Brian Austin Green’s Ex Vanessa Marcil Reveals Alleged Text Exchange with Actor After He Called Their Relationship ‘Toxic’

Marcil replies, “Yesterday was his graduation.”
“You did a really great job. He’s an amazing person,” the actor allegedly writes.
The message ends with Marcil writing, “Thank you.”
Marcil’s screenshot comes one day after Green made remarks about their past relationship on the latest episode of his Oldish podcast.
He expressed how his mother “smothering him” as a child affected his romantic relationships as an adult.
“If I’m looking for a woman, I want the complete opposite of that. I had some major missteps because of that. I mean, the relationship that I had with Vanessa was very toxic in that way,” he said of his ex. “Like, it wasn’t a loving, caring relationship,” he told his co-hosts Randy Spelling and fiancée Sharna Burgess.
“Just everything was about me,” Green recalled of his mother before shifting gears back to his previous relationship.
He continued, “And then with Vanessa, it was not that at all, but it was masked in ‘this is a relationship where that absolutely exists.’ So you start thinking like, ‘Oh, it’s just kind of a new version. Oh, she loves me, but this is her way of loving me.’ ”
The actor said the beginning was good, but “after two years or so, you’re kinda looking at yourself in the mirror and you’re like, ‘Who am I at this point?’ ”
Green and Marcil first started dating in the late 1990s after meeting on the set of Beverly Hills, 90210. They got engaged in the summer of 2001 and welcomed Kassius on March 30, 2002, though they split not long after, in 2003.
He also shares three children: sons Noah Shannon, Bodhi Ransom and Journey River, with his ex-wife, Megan Fox.
A rep for Green did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
