Bridget Fonda and her husband Danny Elfman have been photographed in public for the first time in over a decade.
Fonda, 61, and her composer husband Elfman, 71, were seen returning to their Los Angeles-area home after an apparent trip on Monday, April 28, according to multiple outlets, which also noted the couple had not been photographed together in some 16 years. Fonda was seen smiling as she carried her bags, while Elfman dragged a large blue suitcase along with him as they arrived at their home.

Fonda is a former actress known for movies like The Godfather Part III, Jackie Brown and A Simple Plan; she has not appeared on the screen since 2002, when she starred in the miniseries Snow Queen and appeared in four episodes of The Chris Isaak Show. According to The Daily Mail, Fonda and Elfman last stepped out on a red carpet together in 2009.
She and Elfman, best known for his work with the 1980s band Oingo Boingo and as a composer for movies like The Nightmare Before Christmas, Men in Black and Tobey Maguire’s first two Spider-Man movies, married in November 2003; he had previously composed the music for Fonda’s 1998 movie A Simple Plan.
Fonda has strayed from the spotlight and from acting over the last 20 years after she and Elfman welcomed their son Oliver in 2005. The couple used to share neighboring L.A. mansions, but they sold one of the properties for $8.75 million in 2020, as the Los Angeles Times reported at the time.
Elfman has continued to find steady work as a composer in Hollywood — he most recently composed Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, the latest in a career-long collaboration with filmmaker Tim Burton — even as he faced allegations of sexual harassment and abuse by composer Nomi Abadi, as well as an unnamed woman who filed a lawsuit against him in November 2023. The latter lawsuit was tossed from L.A. Superior Court in September 2024, according to Rolling Stone.
Abadi, a composer who is credited as a score assistant on Marvel Studios’ latest movie Thunderbolts* as well as over a dozen short films in the last decade, first made sexual misconduct allegations against Elfman in 2016; she and Elfman settled the matter for $830,000, but she filed a breach of contract lawsuit in July 2023 and alleged that Elfman failed to deliver multiple payments from that settlement, as Rolling Stone reported at the time.
In July 2024, Abadi then sued Elfman alleging defamation in response to a statement Elfman made to Rolling Stone in 2023 regarding the matter, in which he said, “I allowed someone to get close to me without knowing that I was her ‘childhood crush’ and that her intention was to break up my marriage and replace my wife. When this person realized that I wanted distance from her, she made it clear that I would pay for having rejected her. I allowed an ill-advised friendship to have far-reaching consequences, and that error in judgment is entirely my fault.” According to Abadi’s lawsuit, Elfman’s denials were defamatory and wrongly paint her as “a failed temptress who lied about him for reasons of revenge and greed.”
In January, L.A. Superior Court judge Gail Killefer ruled that Abadi’s defamation lawsuit will move forward after he moved to dismiss the suit, which does not yet appear to have a trial date set, per Variety.
