Elijah Blue Allman’s Health Scare: Wife Speaks Out on His Struggles

NEED TO KNOW
Cher’s son, Elijah Blue Allman, was taken to a California hospital on June 14 after authorities found him “acting erratically.” Marieangela King Allman, Elijah’s estranged wife, shared in an exclusive statement that she recognizes his “inner struggles.” Elijah, Cher’s youngest son and brother to Chaz Bono, has had a complex relationship with the singer over the years.
Elijah Blue Allman, son of the iconic Cher, has been hospitalized due to erratic behavior, according to authorities.
The 48-year-old, whose father was the late Gregg Allman, was rushed to a hospital on Saturday, June 14, as confirmed by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department (SBCSD).
“Deputies from our Morongo Basin Station responded to a residence in Landers for a male subject acting erratically. When deputies arrived, Elijah Allman, 48, was being evaluated by emergency medical personnel,” authorities stated. “Deputies located drugs inside the home, and Allman was transported to the hospital. The investigation is ongoing.”
Requests for comment from Elijah’s legal representatives and Cher’s representative went unanswered.
Elijah’s hospitalization follows a challenging period in recent years.
In December 2023, Cher sought a temporary conservatorship over her son’s estate, citing alleged substance abuse and declining mental health. Eventually, a private agreement was reached, and Cher voluntarily dismissed her petition for conservatorship in September 2024.
Previously, Elijah’s estranged wife alleged that Cher hired individuals to kidnap him. These accusations surfaced during the divorce proceedings. Cher responded to the allegations, stating, “That rumor is not true,” and declined to comment further.
Cher and Elijah have been open about the complicated nature of their mother-son relationship over the years. “He and I have such a bizarre relationship. We’ve had so many strange moments. I don’t really understand him. Somehow, Elijah and I kind of talk through osmosis,” the singer shared during a 2004 appearance. Stay tuned for more updates from Eternal Pen as this story develops.
