Emily Ratajkowski Reveals How She Navigates Dating While Working to Decenter ‘Straight Men’ in Her Life
Ratajkowski added that she’s worked to foster a “community” filled with other “women and queer people,” all while balancing her social life with being a mom to her son Sylvester Apollo Bear, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Sebastian Bear-McClard.
In a May 2023 interview with HommeGirls magazine, Ratajkowski shared what it felt like to be “single” for the “first time” in her life following her split from Bear-McClard in 2022.
“I’m proud of myself. Younger version of myself would have prob settled for some mid dude just to have a [boyfriend]. Glad I’m not in that era anymore,” she said.
On connecting with new people she added: “I’m really open to meeting people whatever way! But I do think mutuals is always a nice way to vet people.”

In the same conversation, Ratajkowski revealed that she’d also “love to” date a woman. “Waiting for the right one to come along. I’ve always been someone who’s more attracted to vibe than specifics of physicality so sometimes it’ll just randomly hit me and I’ll be like, ‘Whoa, I’m attracted to this person!’ ”
Since parting ways with Bear-McClard, Ratajkowski has been linked to Brad Pitt, Pete Davidson, Eric André, Harry Styles and country singer Shaboozey, whom she was most recently rumored to be dating.
