Gavin Rossdale Opens His Stunning L.A. Home to Have ‘Meaningful Conversations’ with A-List Stars on New Cooking Show
Gavin Rossdale is putting his lesser-known talent on display.
The musician invites celebrity guests into his California mansion to cook and catch up over food, games and music in his new show, RockStar Kitchen Chronicles. Rossdale dropped a sneak peek into the upcoming series, which will premiere on VIZIO’s free streaming service, WatchFree+, in December.
The trailer shows the Bush frontman greeting each celebrity at their car before walking with them into his gorgeous Los Angeles home.
“Did you take, like, a cooking class?” asks Serena Williams. Rossdale humbly replies that he has “just messed around, bought some tweezers.”
“That’s what I’m missing!” Williams responds with a laugh.
Rossdale, who was married to Gwen Stefani for 13 years before they split in 2015, credits his “love affair with food” to a sentiment from another musician: “Miles Davis said that every musician should be able to cook,” he says.
The clip highlights several lighthearted moments including a silly exchange between Rossdale and Sir Tom Jones. “A man is not judged on the size of his cigar,” Jones says. “Or his dog,” Rossdale quips while the camera pans to his late Pomeranian, Chewy.
Laughs — and drinks — are shared. While 30 Rock star Jack McBrayer is surrounded by empty shot glasses, he burps and jokingly points at Rossdale, “F— you, Gavin Rossdale!”
But there are serious moments, too. The three-course meals are paired with deep conversations, as seen in the reel.
“I had some battle scars and I had some situations where the system went out and what do you do? You gotta entertain,” says Common.
Selma Blair opens up to Rossdale about her multiple sclerosis diagnosis. “It wasn’t that big a deal that I was diagnosed with MS; it was that it had gone on so long,” she says.
Of course, no cooking show with Rossdale would be complete without musical interludes.
He and Jones sing an acoustic version of the Welsh musician’s song, “It’s Not Unusual.” In another moment, Rossdale and Williams sing together as the mother-of-two holds up her phone to take a video of their performance.
Rossdale said in a press release for the show, “I’ve found that cooking for people creates intimate and special moments and is a great conduit for deeper, meaningful conversations. Nothing brings me greater joy than connecting with friends and family over a fantastic meal that I’ve created just for them.”
RockStar Kitchen Chronicles will air on VIZIO’s WatchFree+ in December.
