Goldie Hawn Pays Tribute to Comedian and Laugh-In Costar Ruth Buzzi After Her Death 

Goldie Hawn is fondly remembering her late costar Ruth Buzzi.

A day after it was announced that Buzzi “died peacefully in her sleep at home in Texas” at 88, Hawn, 79, remembered her Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In castmate in a loving tribute.

“My Ruthie, you’re gone, and it hurts so deeply. I’ll always treasure our daily calls, how we could talk endlessly, even after long days. You were my girlfriend, my heart through life’s ups and downs. You made me laugh like no one else could,” wrote Hawn in a Friday, May 2 Instagram post.

Next to a photo of the two, Hawn remembered Buzzi as “beyond talented.”

“A one of a kind soul who brought so much laughter and light to the world,” she wrote. “Those deep, joyful laughs we shared, especially while making Laugh In, will stay with me forever. I love you.”

To close out her message, Hawn wished for Buzzi to have “peace and beautiful travels in the arms of the angels. ❤️.”

Hawn’s daughter Kate Hudson and Demi Moore paid their respects in the comment section by leaving white dove and red heart emojis.

According to Extra, Hawn appeared on 64 episodes of Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In from 1968 to 1970.

Buzzi was a mainstay on the series through 1973. Although she played various characters, one of her most notable contributions was the curmudgeonly, hair-netted spinster Gladys Ormphby.

Buzzi won the 1973 Golden Globe for best supporting TV actress for her work on the show and received two Primetime Emmy nominations, in 1969 and 1972. She received five Emmy nominations during her career.

She also had several voice acting roles, including Suzie Kabloozie on Sesame Street from 1993 to 2006, and Mama Bear on The Berenstain Bears. Some of her other acting credits include The MonkeesThat GirlHere’s LucyFreaky FridayCHiPsAliceThe Love Boat and 7th Heaven.
