Good Morning America Meteorologist Ginger Zee Rewears 13-Year-Old Dress for the Show’s Final Day in Times Square

The June 13 broadcast was the show’s last in the Times Square location after 26 years. The show first broadcast from the Times Square location in September 1999. Prior to that, GMA aired at the ABC News headquarters, where it first premiered in 1975.

For the final show, GMA featured an appearance from Alicia Keys and a performance from the cast of her Broadway show Hell’s Kitchen.
“It’s a celebration,” Keys said about the opportunity to appear on the show again for what GMA co-anchor Lara Spencer referred to as GMA’s “last bow” in Times Square. The cast of Hell’s Kitchen belted out a medley of classic hits “Girl on Fire” and “No One,” delivering vocals and emotions.
Zee has been through a series of highs and lows during her time on GMA. She and her husband Ben Aaron welcomed their sons Adrian, 9, and Miles, 7. She also got candid about her battle with depression in 2017, sharing she was suicidal at the age of 21.
She previously opened up about checking into a mental health facility 10 days before her move to New York to start on GMA.

“I was in this place where I knew my personal life could affect this outstanding job and opportunity that I had,” she previously told PEOPLE. “For the first time in a long time, I wanted to live and I knew that.”
While there, she met a therapist who “changed everything” — and has been working with him ever since.
