“Grey’s Anatomy: Turmoil at Grey Sloan – Link and Jo’s Momentous Choice as Meredith Confronts Richard’s Fury!”

Alert: this narrative contains revelations from the March 13 episode of Grey’s Anatomy.

It was a contest of trickery on Grey’s Anatomy!

In the March 13 broadcast, Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) along with her partner Nick Marsh (Scott Speedman) returned to Grey Sloan Memorial to assist with a liver transplant for Tasha Lawson, the spouse of Catherine Fox’s (Debbie Allen) former pupil Dr. Evan Moore (Lena Waithe).

Unfortunately, their meticulously crafted strategies unraveled when Meredith faced Richard Webber’s (James Pickens Jr.) discontent for concealing Catherine’s health matters from him earlier in the season. However, once they uncovered that Evan had misled them, their conflict was put on hold — at least momentarily.

Revealing the Reality

While Meredith and Nick were eager to engage with Tasha’s case, Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.) was reluctant to collaborate with her, still harboring anger about her secrecy regarding Catherine’s health issues. He remarked that she prefers “to keep her cases under wraps.”

Catherine was not about to allow him to withdraw from the case so easily, stating, “Just cease… I assured them of top-quality physicians. I pledged A+ care. If you force me to retract these promises, consequences will follow. Set it aside!”

As they continued to clash over surgical plans, Meredith later questioned what Richard expected her to do instead of safeguarding Catherine’s confidentiality, to which he countered, “I anticipated you would inform me.”

“And violate every vow I have ever sworn,” she responded, to which he retorted, “That hasn’t hindered you in the past.”

After Meredith confessed that there was a disconnect between her and Richard, Catherine elucidated, “When you nurture family, when you mentor family, the boundaries blur, particularly when they utilize the knowledge you bestowed upon them against you. It impacts more deeply. This implies it takes longer to heal.”

In the meantime, Nick chose to decline the liver due to its dimension and postponed the surgery. Evan was displeased with the update, saying, “Every day that passes is another opportunity for her liver to fail. We could wait weeks for another suitable donor. You might be knowledgeable about transplants, but I know my wife, she requires this now.”

The scans indicated that Tasha may not be suffering from encephalopathy, but potentially had a stroke. As they devised a plan to examine Tasha’s brain, Richard insisted they needed Evan’s approval.

Evan remained resolute and pushed for the liver transplant, exclaiming, “She’s declining before my very eyes. I would do anything to rescue her, anything.”

Nonetheless, Meredith and Richard continued to search for explanations regarding Tasha’s condition. Meredith speculated she might be suffering from dementia, but Richard requested her complete medical files and learned she had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease two years prior.

“Evan was discussing Tasha’s recent achievements, the accolades and publications, the public acknowledgment,” he informed Meredith. “They reminded me of your mother.”

“Do you believe Catherine is aware of this?” Meredith asked, and Richard replied, “Do you believe she is not?”

They then addressed Catherine and inquired about the diagnosis. Meredith stated that Evan had purposely omitted it from the records she provided, to which Catherine objected, “No, she had me endorse Tasha to the transplant committee, had they been informed, they might have made a radically different decision.”

“Evan deceived all of us efficiently,” Catherine added, which prompted Richard to reply, “Well, she was educated by the best.” Meredith then withdrew Nick from the OR before he could commence the surgery.

Fresh Starts

After treating a patient named Marlee who leaped off a bridge during her divorce celebration and fractured her spine, Link made a momentous decision about his personal relationship and surprised Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington) with a proposal.

“I adore you, you adore me, and I recognize that it necessitates more than that to sustain a marriage, but what is it that couples who’ve been together for an extended period say?” he articulated. “I wed my best friend.”

“That defines us,” he continued. “It’s been ‘us’ since the day you twisted your ankle and I dropped you at canon green, since we spent all night reviewing materials, devouring Jimmy’s cheesy bread…It remains us. You are my soulmate, and years from now, we’ll recount to our children and grandchildren that the key to our marriage was our friendship.”

Before he could even pop the question, she responded affirmatively, and they embraced in a kiss.

Progressing Ahead

There was no affection lost between Jules Millin (Adelaide Kane) and Simone Griffin (Alexis Floyd) at the intern retreat. Simone struggled to get past the fact that Jules had not yet apologized for allowing her to accept the blame for a blunder in the OR.

Ultimately, Jules confided in the group regarding her feelings after disputing with Simone. “We lost a classmate,” she expressed, referencing Mika Yasuda (Midori Francis) deciding to withdraw.

“She exited the program, and everyone is behaving as though nothing has changed, yet everything has altered…What is the purpose of team bonding if we don’t even have a team? Our team is fractured,” Jules lamented as she broke down in tears.

Later, Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) found Jules and conveyed to her that she empathized with what she was experiencing. “You’re correct. Your team is indeed broken. I want to assist in fixing that,” she stated before asking, “Do you?”

Following her earlier emotional outburst, Simone offered Jules her airline miles to visit Mika, but Jules confessed, “I was attempting to arrange a visit, but she expressed that she needs space.”

Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
