Jana Kramer and Allan Russell Unveil Surprise Nuptials Ahead of Their Scottish Celebration!

Jana Kramer and Allan Russell are revealing details about their official marriage date, which wasn’t during their picturesque ceremony in Scotland.

On the Tuesday, March 11 episode of her Whine Down podcast, the actress and vocalist, 41, along with her spouse and ex-soccer player Russell, 44, addressed inquiries from podcast listeners — including one regarding their official marriage date, as speculation had circulated for months prior to their July 2024 wedding when Russell started donning his wedding ring.

“Dun. Dun. Dun. Exclusive news,” Kramer says in the clip.

While Russell jested about the inquiry — asking, “These are the inquiries I find perplexing. What’s the significance for [the podcast listener’s] life?” — the couple eventually opted to respond, as Kramer even mentions one of her closest friends being out of the loop on their official union.

“I think we should respond, however, because, listen, you began wearing your ring, and there were numerous inquiries about whether we tied the knot, and we did not address them,” Kramer continues.

“With this situation, it was nice not to disclose anything and allow people to speculate as they pleased because I didn’t want to reveal it. And it was something personal between us that we determined we wouldn’t elaborate more on,” the vocalist continues, also expressing how it felt “odd” that she and her husband hadn’t officially united when they welcomed their son Roman, 1, in November 2023.

“And ultimately, we had a baby. So who cares if you had a ring on before we got married?” the country star adds.

“To reply to your question: Yes, we married in January, and we made it formal in July,” Russell stated, noting it was pleasant to keep it private for the preceding 15 months.

As per the duo, they were “eager to marry” and ultimately opted for a courthouse ceremony—one without vows or any distinct elements—so they could preserve the specialness for their formal celebration in Russell’s home county of Scotland later that year.

They hadn’t even started referring to one another as “husband and wife” until after their Scottish ceremony.

“Our wedding date is July 13. We just made it official a bit earlier,” Kramer adds. “… But there was something incredibly beautiful and just, private and precious about us keeping that together and it just being like, just us holding that without the entire world.”

Russell and Kramer ultimately tied the knot on July 13, 2024 at Carnell Estate, situated 25 miles from Glasgow in Scotland. The couple was accompanied by 35 of their closest family members and friends, including Kramer’s two children with ex Mike Caussin, daughter Jolie, 8, and son Jace, 5, as well as Russell’s son Troy, 16, from a prior relationship and their son Roman.

“I just knew I wanted to marry him. We had discussed simply going away and doing it ourselves, but it was significant for me to have the wedding for Jolie and Jace, so they can witness that we’re married now,” Kramer disclosed to PEOPLE at that moment, sharing about their traditional celebration.

The couple first connected on social media, and Russell eventually traveled from his then-residence in England to Nashville for a date with Kramer around Christmas time in 2022. After meeting at the 1 Hotel, Kramer said she knew it was “game over.” They became engaged just six months later.

“I’ve also never been so thrilled to walk down the aisle to someone, and it didn’t need to be this grand affair. It’s going to be very small and personal and everything we desired,” she added. “We’re getting married in Scotland, so the backdrop is already breathtaking. I simply want to marry him, and I want my closest friends to be there. That’s all that truly counts for us and our family.”
