Nakoa-Wolf Joins Dad Jason Momoa in Dune 3: A Star is Born?

Nakoa-Wolf Momoa will make his feature film debut alongside his father, Jason Momoa.

Momoa shares his 16-year-old son and 17-year-old daughter, Lola Iolani, with ex-wife Lisa Bonet. Nakoa-Wolf will portray Leto II, son of Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) and Chani (Zendaya), Deadline reported on Tuesday, June 17, citing sources.

Nakoa-Wolf’s on-screen twin sister, Ghanima, was announced to be portrayed by Ida Brooke, per Deadline.

Momoa is expected to reprise his role as Duncan Idaho, the resurrected ghola, in the upcoming film.

Chalamet and Zendaya are expected to reprise their roles in the third installment, but there has not been a formal casting announcement.

Denis Villeneuve will also direct the third film. The Oscar-nominated director adapted Frank Herbert’s award-winning novel series, and divided the first novel into two parts. The third installment will adapt the second novel, Dune Messiah, which follows the events of Dune 12 years later.

The initial film received 10 Oscar nominations, and took home six awards, including Best Original Score, Best Sound, Best Film Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design and Best Visual Effects.

Dune: Part Two earned five Oscar nominations at the 97th Academy Awards, including Best Picture. It scored two awards, including Best Sound and Best Visual Effects.

Dune: Messiah will open in theaters on Dec. 16, 2026. The first two films are available to stream on Max.
