Kevin Hart Roasts Kanye, Diddy & Cardi B: 2025 BET Awards Hilarious Opening

Kevin Hart’s Monologue at the 2025 BET Awards Sparks Reactions

Kevin Hart didn’t hold back during his opening monologue at the 2025 BET Awards, delivering jokes that touched on recent controversies surrounding several high-profile celebrities.

The comedian took aim at Kanye West, Sean “Diddy” Combs, and Cardi B as he kicked off the award ceremony at the Peacock Theater on Monday, June 9. Hart, 45, joked about shutting down afterparties following the BET Awards.

“Take your asses home after this; that’s why I did this on a Monday,” the emcee quipped. “People gotta go to work tomorrow.”

Alluding to allegations surrounding Diddy’s alleged sex parties, Hart added, “That’s where s— gets slippery, at them goddamn afterparties. We’re learning a lot about people, ain’t we?”

Diddy, 55, is currently facing trial for sex crimes, including allegations of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution.

Hart continued his monologue by joking about providing self-driving cars to take audience members home, emphasizing that the passengers couldn’t “bribe” the nonexistent drivers.

“No yachts, no boats. Cardi B, no pink stuff. What the f—, none of that stuff. Everybody’s gonna get hit tonight. We’re live. It’s gonna be a good time.”

The reference to Cardi B seemed to stem from an investigation involving her boyfriend, Stefon Diggs, after a video surfaced of him with a pink, crystallized substance on a yacht.

While Cardi, 32, wasn’t directly featured in the viral video of the New England Patriots star, she was seen in other footage from the yacht’s events on social media.

Later in his monologue, Hart turned his attention to West, 48, referencing the movie *Sinners*. Pretending to receive a text message, Hart announced, “Oh s—, it’s Kanye,” adding, “Yep, he says he’s out front, he’s waiting for somebody to invite him in.”

“We all saw *Sinners*, don’t let his ass in here, so he could fight somebody, so he can fight Playboi Carti again, okay?” he joked.

“Nobody let Kanye in, no! Not tonight!” he exclaimed.

West made an appearance on the 2025 Grammys red carpet in early February with his wife, Bianca Censori, before departing. Shortly after, West defended Diddy in an online rant in February that was filled with antisemitic slurs, leading to his dismissal by his talent agency and the temporary deactivation of his X account.

The BET Awards aired live on Monday, June 9, from Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater. Stay tuned for more updates from Eternal Pen!
