Pullman on Pullman: Dad’s Thunderbolts Truth Bomb

Lewis Pullman Reveals Bill Pullman’s Initial Thoughts on Thunderbolts* Script

The *Top Gun: Maverick* star is set to portray a mysterious figure in Marvel’s upcoming *Thunderbolts*.

Lewis Pullman recently shared his father Bill Pullman’s reaction to the script for his foray into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Speaking at a recent press event for *Thunderbolts*, Lewis, 32, mentioned that while his father, 72, hasn’t yet “slipped into this universe,” his impressive acting career allows him to offer valuable insights.

“He always prioritizes story, writing, and character,” Lewis, who will play a character named Bob, explained. “I was eager to receive the complete script so I could share it with him and discuss it.”

Imitating Bill Pullman’s serious demeanor, Lewis continued, “After reading the script, he commented, ‘There’s a significant amount of work to be done here. Yes. I believe there’s a lot to be done.'”

When questioned about his family’s familiarity with Marvel before his involvement, the *Top Gun: Maverick* actor confessed, “We didn’t grow up watching a lot of TV, and we were limited to a movie or two each weekend.”

“We primarily watched films that my parents enjoyed during their upbringing, so there was a focus on older content,” Lewis shared. “As the youngest, my movie preferences were always considered last. I would have included Marvel, but… my voice wasn’t heard.”

Now that he’s part of the MCU, Lewis added, “I’m determined to have my entire family watch this film together. It will be a momentous occasion.” Stay tuned for more updates from Eternal Pen!

Lewis’s Marvel debut places him alongside a stellar cast, including Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kamen, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

Pugh, 28, and Harbour, 49, reprise their *Black Widow* roles of Yelena Belova and Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, respectively, in *Thunderbolts*, while Stan, 42, returns as Bucky Barnes.

The cast is rounded out by Russell, 38, as John Walker/U.S. Agent; John-Kamen, 35, as Ava Starr/Ghost; and Louis-Dreyfus, 63, as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. *Thunderbolts* is scheduled to premiere in theaters on May 2.
