Lily Allen’s Friendship Secrets: The FaceTime Ranking System

Lily Allen claims she has an assistant who schedules FaceTime calls with her friends, penciling them into a calendar. The English singer made this confession on a recent episode of her *Miss Me?* podcast.

“Where am I on that bloody list?” her co-host and best friend Miquita Oliver asked.

Lily Allen is a great friend—to those lucky enough to be high on her list.

In the latest episode of her *Miss Me?* podcast, co-hosted with her BFF Miquita Oliver, the “Smile” singer admitted she doesn’t treat all her friends equally.

During the conversation, the hosts addressed a question from a listener named Kate who wondered how they manage “long-distance friendships.”

“Well, I create lists of people who I like in order of how much I like them. And I send that list to my assistant and just ask her to schedule time for me to have a FaceTime with them,” Allen replied.

The singer’s response audibly surprised Oliver, and the two shared a laugh.

“Are you joking? I was like, what the f— are you talking about? And where am I on that bloody list?” Oliver quipped.

A description of the podcast notes the pair have been “friends since birth.”

While Allen may have been joking about having her assistant schedule FaceTimes, Oliver admitted it’s not a terrible idea when distance plays a role in relationships.

“FaceTime was a very, very big integral part of Lil and my love for each other and continuing love and friendship before *Miss Me?* I would say *Miss Me?* has shat on that a little bit, just a little bit,” Oliver said. “Because I was like, I’ve already FaceTimed you, don’t need to FaceTime me tomorrow. But one thing I don’t do is wait for Lily to FaceTime me. If I miss her, I just bloody f—ing FaceTime her.”

Allen joked that putting a price on their friendship has also kept it going.

“Also, nothing motivates people more than money, right? So, how about you figure out a way of monetizing your friendship? And then that will encourage you to connect more often like me and Miquita have,” the English singer and songwriter joked about “monetizing” their friendship with their *Miss Me?* podcast.

Last month, Allen shared a special “thank you” to the friends and family in her life who made her 40th birthday a good one, following her separation from actor David Harbour in February after four years of marriage.

“Thank you to all my [beautiful] friends and family who showed up for me and made my birthday a special one under some tricky circumstances. Love you all,” she captioned the since-deleted post, tagging a few people, including Oliver.

Her actual birthday was May 2.

The source shared the split had also been “very hard” on her daughters, Ethel Mary, 13, and Marnie Rose, 12, whom she shares with ex-husband Sam Cooper.

Allen and the actor were first linked in January 2019. They tied the knot with a Las Vegas wedding in September 2020.
