Reality TV Romance: Who Gets the Final Rose?

Love Hotel is officially closed for the season, with season 1 of the Bravo dating series wrapping up on June 15. Shannon Beador, Luann de Lesseps, Gizelle Bryant, and Ashley Darby each made a pivotal choice about their romantic future, deciding which suitor, if any, they wanted to leave the Love Hotel with.

**Warning: This post contains spoilers for *Love Hotel’s* season 1 finale.**

The finale opens with Shannon and Earl Thompson addressing his outburst from the previous episode. He was upset that Shannon chose dinner with her fellow Housewives over comforting him regarding his property potentially impacted by a hurricane. They agreed to “table” the argument and continue getting to know each other.

The ladies then met individually with each man to share their final decisions.

Luann chose to leave the Love Hotel with James. “What I love about James is he’s not controlling, like the other men in my life,” she explained. “James is smart enough to know, if you love something, set it free.” The episode revealed that they are still together, “very much in love” and “make time for each other in spite of the distance.”

Gizelle had to choose between Theo and Phil. “We’re in different moments of our life,” Gizelle told Phil. “You’re very much on chill mode and I’m still hustling and bustling and grinding and doing Gizelle.” Ultimately, Gizelle chose Theo. However, despite her hope that Theo “would come into my world and fill it up,” their plans to reunite in New York City for Halloween never materialized. Gizelle has been in contact with Phil and is planning a visit to see him in Los Angeles.

Despite their rollercoaster journey, Shannon decided to leave the Love Hotel with Earl. “I don’t know where you and I go from here, but I will tell you that I do believe that some how, some way, you and I are going to be in each other’s lives. Your my person,” she told Earl. While Shannon and Earl did visit each other after the Love Hotel, Shannon ended the relationship after “a couple of months” and remains single.

Ashley faced difficulty narrowing down her choices throughout the season. She ultimately decided to leave with Ralph. Wale, another suitor, presented Ashley with a “final note” expressing his well wishes. “I’m at peace with our answer,” he said. Ashley and Ralph’s relationship “fizzled” after the show, but she and Wale still text each other.

One week before the finale, Shannon hinted that one of her co-stars was still dating their chosen suitor during a podcast appearance. “I will say that there is one of the ladies of the four that is still dating someone,” she said. She remained vague about which castmate she was referring to.

Shannon also reflected on her decision to participate in the series, viewing it as a fresh start following her September 2023 arrest.

“I was asked to go a couple months before, and I think I replaced somebody. So I wasn’t in the initial cast. But I got a DUI and it was a really difficult year for me, And so I made a vow to focus on myself and I didn’t date. And I’m a relationship girl,” she said. “I’m usually not single and not a big dater. And so I thought this is kind of perfect timing. It’s been a year. I’ve been single for a year and let me try.”

She went into filming thinking she was “gonna go and have fun,” adding, “I really didn’t expect to have, you know, a connection with anyone.”

She doesn’t regret her time on the show. “It’s insane, the friendships that I have maintained since the show,” she said. “The guys are really tight … I see quite a few of them. And the girls, especially, we have this bond. We called it a little bit of a social experiment because we didn’t really know what we were walking into, being the first season.”
