Meghan Markle Reveals Prince Harry’s Culinary Masterpiece in Her Netflix Series “With Love, Meghan”

Meghan Markle might present a program that showcases her culinary talents, but evidently her spouse Prince Harry isn’t a poor chef, either.

In the fifth installment of Netflix’s With Love, Meghan — which debuted on the streaming platform on March 4 — Meghan converses with friends and expresses her desire for her children Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3, to “acquire cooking skills and create wonderful formative memories of sharing this with me.”

“Mama used to prepare this,” she noted, seemingly indicating what she hopes her children will someday express.

Meghan’s companion Kelly McKee Zajfen then remarked of Harry, 40, “He is an excellent chef,” to which Meghan, 43, concurred: “He is,” she affirmed. “He made delicious scrambled eggs the other morning.”

“He prepares a fantastic breakfast,” she went on to say.

Britain's Prince Harry (2nd R), Duke of Sussex, converses with his wife Meghan Markle, flanked by Colombia's vice-President Francia Marquez (L) and the director of the National Centre for the Arts Xiomara Suescun attend a show at the centre in Bogota on August 15, 2024. Prince Harry and his wife, American actress Meghan Markle, arrived in Colombia at the invitation of Colombia's vice-President Francia Marquez, with whom they will attend various meetings with women and young people to reject discrimination and cyberbullying

At the Golden Globes red carpet on Jan. 5, Mindy Kaling — who also features in With Love, Meghan — validated the reports about Harry’s culinary skills. While Kaling stated Harry “was present, but he didn’t cook for me,” she added, “I’ve heard he’s actually quite a skilled cook,” noting that he “navigates the kitchen well.”

Although the series highlights some of Meghan’s interests such as cooking, hosting, and gardening, Harry does appear in the concluding episode of the series, when Meghan organizes a brunch celebration for a few of her closest friends and family.

“I adore a brunch gathering. There’s something genuinely delightful about it, and I think it’s a fantastic way to bond,” Meghan mentioned in episode eight.

“Naturally, my husband will attend, my mother will be here, my best friend from college — simply my community, enjoying a brunch in the sunshine with the individuals I cherish, commemorating this new chapter of my life,” she continued.

She later mentioned regarding the meal, “My mother is coming today, my lovely husband will stop by, wonderful friends who are a significant part of my life. It should be enjoyable and definitely stress-free, just a good time.”

“We’re not aiming for perfection; we’re pursuing joy,” Meghan expressed.

When Harry arrives at the brunch, he and Meghan lean in and share a brief kiss. At one moment, Meghan snuggles up to Harry and remarks, “Good, right?” referencing his drink.

“Well done,” Harry replied. “You did an excellent job. I love it.”

Subsequently, Meghan toasts in front of her loved ones: “I simply want to raise a glass to all of you. This feels like a fresh chapter that I’m ecstatic to share after learning from every one of you. So thank you for all the love and support.”

“Thank you for loving me so profoundly and celebrating with me,” she continued. “Cheers, everyone.”

“To you!” Harry added.

“To love,” Meghan concluded. “We can’t end on a better note than that.”

In other parts of the series, Meghan noted that her bacon “lures my husband and three dogs to the kitchen — not my perfume,” and revealed that Harry might face some rivalry in the breakfast-making arena: Meghan herself!

“I wake up every morning and take great pride in preparing breakfast for my family,” she stated in another segment of With Love, Meghan.

Discussing her mornings in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Meghan says, “I rise before my children, so I’m often awake by 6:30, then I get them up and dressed for the day, and we head downstairs. I love preparing breakfast for my family.”

“My husband and Archie both enjoy fried eggs,” the Duchess of Sussex adds. “There’s a lot of bacon around here. And at times you don’t have time for all that, and you simply pop a frozen waffle in the toaster and call it a day. And there’s no shame in that either.”

Unsurprisingly, Meghan considers food to be one of her love languages. “Even before I became a mother, I loved nurturing others in that manner,” she remarks. “Some of my cherished childhood memories revolve around the meals that my mother would prepare. She often made a lot of soul food. I recall she took a Thai cooking class, so we often had Thai BBQ chicken and spring rolls every week. Those flavors resonate with me, and I want my children to have those same formative experiences with the dishes I prepare. We refer to them as Mama Meals, and those are the moments I hope they revisit when they’re older, when they’re married, and have their own children, and they say, ‘Oh, let’s enjoy a Mama Meal.’ And it’s the same roast chicken I’ve been making since they were young.”
