RFK Jr. Warns: Bird Vaccination Could Spark ‘Mutation Factories’ in Avian Flu Crisis

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. discussed the escalating avian influenza issue, stating that immunizing birds transforms them into “mutation factories.” He instead suggests allowing the birds that endure the virus to reproduce.

Kennedy, the leader of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, communicated with Fox News host Sean Hannity on March 11, asserting that “avian flu will never be eliminated” since the virus is “endemic in wild bird populations” which transmit it to domestic flocks.

He continued by stating “all of my agencies have cautioned against immunizing birds. Because if you vaccinate with a leaky vaccine — meaning a vaccine that does not provide sterilizing immunity, that doesn’t completely shield against the illness — you turn those flocks into mutation factories. They’re instructing the organism how to evolve … It’s far more probable to jump to animals if this is done. All my agency leaders from the [National Institute of Health] NIH, [Centers for Disease Control] CDC, and [Food and Drug Administration] FDA have all indicated we should avoid vaccination. It’s hazardous for humans to vaccinate the birds.”

In the U.S., farmers are presently culling infected livestock as a measure to curb the flu’s spread. “The question is, should you eliminate those flocks?” Kennedy inquired. “They ought to be isolated. You should let the disease pass through them and identify the birds that withstand, which are likely the birds with a genetic predisposition for immunity, and those should be the ones we breed.”

He further recommended “intensively testing therapeutic medicines on those flocks” to assist in developing “a drug that could possibly be beneficial for humans to treat avian flu. That’s what we ought to be pursuing.”

“We’ve exterminated 166 million chickens,” Kennedy remarked. “That’s why we are confronting an egg crisis.”
