Timothée Chalamet Performs Bob Dylan’s ‘Like a Rolling Stone’ in New A Complete Unknown Trailer
Timothée Chalamet is going electric in the new trailer for his Bob Dylan biopic.
On Tuesday, Oct. 8, Searchlight Pictures released the latest trailer for A Complete Unknown, in which Chalamet, 28, portrays legendary folk-rock musician Dylan, 83, through his rise in New York City and transition to recording and performing music with an electric guitar at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival.
The new trailer teases Chalamet’s singing voice as Dylan with songs like “Girl in the North Country” and “Like a Rolling Stone,” as well as his relationship and performances with singer-songwriter Joan Baez, portrayed by Monica Barbaro.
Chalamet was first seen on the New York City set of A Complete Unknown for filming back in March and was later seen filming musical performances with Barbaro, 34, at Echo Lake Park, New Jersey in April. He was also spotted on set spending time with Elle Fanning, who also costars in the film, that same month.
Chalamet appeared to take on significant research in order to play the folk music legend; in January, he visited Dylan’s high school in Hibbing, Minnesota, and spent time with the school’s drama students while staying in Dylan’s hometown.
The movie also stars Edward Norton as musician Pete Seeger; Boyd Holbrook, Dan Fowler, Norbert Leo Butz and Scoot McNairy additionally feature in the cast. The film is directed by James Mangold (Walk the Line), who cowrote the script with Jay Cocks.
A Complete Unknown is in theaters Dec. 25.
